Peace Bridge
Building Peace
Within Ourselves, Our Relationships, & Our Communities
Peace Bridge, LLC is locally based in State College, Pennsylvania, USA - but it has a national and international focus. The purpose of all the programs, locally and beyond, is peacebuilding and healing through the arts. Some of the main goals are to develop compassion, empathy, and understanding between diverse groups of people, and to promote mental health and well-being for ourselves.
One area of focus is on giving educational arts-based workshops to groups/organizations/communities needing to connect with each other, either because they are in conflict, or because they simply want to communicate better. I also give workshops that use the arts as a medium to explore diversity and inclusion issues. I am open to traveling to wherever your organization is in the world, as long as you help me get there. :)
Another area of focus is promoting mental health and well-being with college students and refugees.
For college students, I am available to give a talk about my journey through mental health issues in college and provide healing techniques through a full or half day retreat of arts-based workshops.
For refugees, I am available to train staff who work with refugees, and/or do healing arts workshops directly with refugees. In addition, I can give workshops about using the arts to build social cohesion with the local community.
The arts provide an alternative path for dialogue, opening doors for communication in a way that language alone may not. The workshops use various artistic mediums as the tools for communication, healing, and connection - and they can be tailored to your group's needs.
No artistic experience is necessary. Some artistic mediums that work well are: theatre/drama activities, creative writing, visual arts, music, and intuitive dance.
